Abstract
Mixtures of water and DMSO were prepared in a particular weight ratio (20% DMSO and 80% water) and the homogeneous system was allowed to attain room temperature. The required quantity of the non-electrolyte urea for a given molality was then dissolved and filtered. Free volume and internal pressure were evaluated using the experimentally determined ultrasonic velocity, density and velocity of the solution.
