Abstract
The article examines the formation and development of geodetic science in different periods of human activity. Approaches to studying geodetic science in modern.
 At the present stage, the learning process moves from a mechanical concept to an informational one. Electronic total stations, various databases, software replace the means of measurement and processing, typical of the twentieth century, and, accordingly, the approach to the study of geodetic sciences.

Summary
Розглянуто становлення та розвиток геодезичної науки у різні періоди людської діяльності. Для вирішення цих завдань необхідно було створити інструменти і пристрої, які забезпечували точність вимірювань. Аж до ХХ століття, в геодезії для вирішення геодезичних завдань широко застосовувався прямий кут. Основними одиницями вимірювань були прямий кут, довжина, час, площа. У цей час стали інтенсивно розробляти прилади для кутових і лінійних вимірювань. Геодезична освіта в епоху Відродження зводилася до практичної геометрії - навчання методом вирішення різних геометричних задач, і здійснювалася поза стінами навчальних закладів - на місцевості. Електронні тахеометри, різні бази даних, програмні забезпечення замінюють засоби вимірювання і обробки, характерні для ХХ століття, а відповідно і підхід до вивчення геодезичних наук. У даний час електронні карти стають обов'язковим компонентом не тільки в сфері планування та будівництва міст, виробничих комплексів, наукової діяльності, але і у навчанні.
