Abstract

The response characteristics of fiber interleaving filter can be improved by using the phase adjustment effect of fiber resonator ring. An optical fiber ring resonator is introduced into the interference arm of non-balanced Mach-Zehnder interferometer(MZI), and a new type of optical fiber resonance ring assisted non-balanced MZI interlaced filter with simple and compact structure is constructed. Using the theory of optical transmission, the output expression of the device is deduced, and the numerical simulation analysis is carried out. The effects reflected that after improving and optimizing on the wavelength interleaving filter, it has the characteristics of wide flat top, sharp cut-off and approximate square wave. The effects of coupling coefficient of coupler, fiber ring length and loss on the characteristics of the device are analyzed. The research results have reference significance for the actual processing of the device and further improving its filtering performance.
