Abstract

The two strands of DNA from Spirillum SP5 have been separated in alkaline CsCl gradients and on a polynucleotide kieselguhr column. One of the strands is probably richer in guanine, thymine and pyrimidines than the other. The DNA contains an average of 61 % guanine+cytosine and no unusual bases.
