Abstract

Abstract X-ray radiographs of loess on Banks Peninsula revealed microstratification and features attributable to paleosols. The microstratification is inferred to reflect episodes of aeolian deposition. Use of X-ray radiography is recommended for engineering studies and determination of the geological history of loess successions.
