Abstract

Cobalt and Chromium doped Zinc Oxide nanoparticles were synthesized by the microwave method, an easier, less time consuming method which yield doped Zinc Oxide nanoparticles of uniform size, shape and morphology. Various ratios of Zinc nitrate, Chromium nitrate, Cobalt nitrate, and Citric acid were used to synthesize these nanoparticles. X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy /energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (SEM/EDS) techniques were used to characterize these nanometer size pored materials. Magnetic behavior of both Cr doped and Co doped ZnO nanoparticles have been compared in the present work using the VSM at room temperature.
