Abstract
The tin derivatives of N-acylhydroxylamines, (CH 3) 2Sn[ON(CH 3)COCH 3], R 2Sn[ON(Ph)COPh] 2 (R CH 3, PH, n-C 4H 9, n-C 8H 17), n-C 4H 9Sn[ON(Ph)COPh] 3, (CH 3) 3Sn[ON(Ph)SO 2C 6H 4CH 3], X 2Sn[ON(E)COPh] 2 (X Cl, Br, I; E H, Ph), (CH 3) 2SnX[ON(Ph)COPh] (X Cl, Br, I); Cl 2Sn[ON(CH 3)COCH 3] 2 have been prepared. The reaction of N-acetyl- N-methylhydroxylamine with hexamethyldisilazane yielded the trimethylsilyl hydrazine, (CH 3) 3SiNH—N(CH 3)COCH 3. From several attempted syntheses of triorganotin derivatives only products of disproportionation were isolated, In particular, (CH 3) 3Sn[(ON(CH 3)COCH 3], which could be isolated from the reaction of the hydroxylamine and (CH 3) 3SnNEt 2 in cold ether, disproportionated to (CH 3) 2Sn[ON(CH 3)COCH 3] 2 and (CH 3) 4Sn in refluxing ether after 30 min or by heating the solid to ca. 70°C. Tin-119 Mössbauer, vibrational, and mass spectral data are reported for the derivatives and discussed in detail.
