Abstract
The strong coupling approximation is applied to mass exchange reactions. The zero-range approximation is made and the strong coupling and distorted wave Born approximations (DWBA) are compared. It is shown that the stripping peal is naturally predicted by the strong coupling approximation in cases where the “cut-off” DWBA must be used.
