Abstract

Objective To investigate stress response and psychological care interventions of elderly patients with thoracotomy in peri-operative period. Methods 100 patients undergoing selective thoracotomy were randomly divided into treatment group and control group, 50 in each group. Observation group received cognitive behavioral intervention, where the control group received psychological care in general wards. Preoperative anxiety and postoperative blood pressure, heart rate and postoperative physical recovery-related indicators were obtained and analyzed. Results The preoperative anxiety and postoperative pain was significantly lower than the control group(t = 8. 05,3. 47; P < 0. 01). Postoperative time to pull out the chest lead pipe, and the first intestinal discharge time was earlier than the control group (t = 2. 98,2. 09;P < 0. 01). Conclusions Elderly patients undergoing thoracotomy system preoperative nursing intervention can significantly reduce adverse surgical stress, help to reduce postoperative pain and accelerate postoperative physical rehabilitation to improve the treatment quality of care.
