Abstract

With the development of the Internet era, the new media environment has also given rise to new forms of crises. Sudden public events always become the focus of public opinion on the Internet and spread rapidly across the network, spreading to a large area within a short period time, making it difficult for the government to guide public opinion and posing a serious threat to the image, survival and development of the government. Taking the sudden public event "Wuhan City Closure" as an example, this paper compares the public opinion guidance strategies and effects of the relevant media, considers positive public relations and image restoration theories as to the three-level coding standards for the construction of rooted theory, and uses qualitative research methods to investigate the government's public opinion guidance strategies and effects in the context of crisis communication.
