Abstract

The aim of the study was to formulate a strategy for developing young agricultural entrepreneurs in the Sumatran region. The research location is in the Sumatra region covering the provinces of Aceh, North Sumatra, West Sumatra, Jambi, South Sumatra, and Bengkulu. The research sample is young entrepreneurs who are recipients of the Young Agricultural Entrepreneur Growth Program (PWMP) as many as 230 respondents using the accidental sampling method with consideration of a homogeneous population. Collecting data through structured questionnaires by means of direct and indirect interviews (google form). Data analysis using SWOT analysis. The results of the research formulate strategies that can be used in the development of young agricultural entrepreneurs in the Sumatra region, by implementing a diversification strategy, namely: increasing the understanding of entrepreneurs in terms of utilizing market information access based on technology 4.0; minimize and train skills and prepare various prevention options against uncertain market conditions and unforeseen and uncontrollable natural conditions; increase the intensity of entrepreneurship training and seminars; creating creative ideas and the latest innovations in technology-based products and marketing management; and create an attractive business environment based on agro-tourism.
