Abstract

This contribution deals with the experimental investigation of cord-rubber composites with polyamide cord reinforcement. A loading procedure including internal pressure, compression and torsion was applied to the specimens. For deformation analyses at the surface of the specimens, 3D Digital Image Correlation was applied. Tangential strain values were determined by means of a special evaluation procedure using B-spline approximation of the DIC point data. The results show large strain differences between cord and elastomer sections. Based on the obtained experimental data, validation of numerical simulations of the cord-rubber composites can be performed in further investigations.
