Abstract

(Hooper, 1954), and is the first individual of this subspecies reported since 1903 (Merriam, 1903). The trapping locatio in the Sierra Chincua, which was a dry, open woodlot, differed from the et, rocky habitats previously reported for N. neotomodon (Hooper, 1954; Baker and Greer, 1962; Matson and Baker, 1986). The specimen of Nelsonia was identified by M. D. Engstrom. I thank M. D. Engstrom for reviewing this manuscript, H. Flores and J. L. Villasefior for identifying the understory vegetation, and the Direccio General de Conservaci6n Ecol6gia de los Recursos Naturales for a collecting permit in Mexico. Financial support was provided by the Sigma Xi Society and Explorers Club.
