Abstract

Blood samples were collected from a cumulative total of apparently healthy 1, 083 grazing cattle of the Japanese Shorthorn breed of a cumulative total of 14 herds. They were used to estimate the blood calcium and magnesium concentrations, hematocrit value, and leukocyte count. The results obtained were illustrated. Then an attempt was made to detect statistically abnormal values of logarithm and anti-logarithm for each item of examination in each herd. In addition, a fundamental statistic value was determined for each item of examination in each herd after discarding statistically abnormal values of anti-logarithm.
