Split flotation of calcite from wollastonite and microcline—the calcite-rich wollastonite ore of northern Sweden

Abstract

Efforts to improve the calcite flotation from wollastonite and microcline in the presence of ultrafine particles have been made. The ore was divided into six size fractions, 100–75μm, 75–53μm, 53–38μm, 38–20μm, 20–10μm, and -10μm. Two collectors, Berol 860 and sodium oleate, were independently tested to float the mixtures of coarser size fractions with the -10μm fraction, in different proportions.
