Abstract

Spin flip Raman scattering (SFRS) from the Eu2+ in a single crystal of Eu0.54Sr0.46S has been used to study the spin dynamcis from 1.6 to 20 K in magnetic fields from 4 to 10 kG. At low temperatures, an anomalous intensity in the Stokes/anti-Stokes ratio is observed connected with an interference between spin flip terms linear and quadratic in M.
