Abstract

The article examines the class composition of students of secondary educational institutions in Russia in the late 19th - early 20th centuries. A comparative analysis of the class affiliation of students of secondary educational institutions in Siberia, namely state gymnasiums, secondary vocational, real and commercial schools, teachers' seminaries and institutes, is carried out. It is shown that, despite the established class restrictions in obtaining education, secondary educational institutions became more democratic during the study period. At the same time, the share of raznochinets in the number of students was constantly increasing.
