Journal of Art & Design EducationVolume 4, Issue 1 p. 19-33 Some Student-Teachers' Experiments in Art Education and Humanistic Understanding RACHEL MASON, RACHEL MASON RACHEL MASON is Lecturer in the Centre for Postgraduate Studies and Research at Leicester Polytechnic with responsibility for Postgraduate Certificate and MA (Art Education) courses, and was previously Assistant-Professor of Art Education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (1979-81), and Lecturer in Art Education at Kelvin Grove College of Advanced Education, Brisbane (1975-77). Before this she had wide experience of teaching in adult evening centres and English secondary schools. In 1975 she was awarded MEd (Aesthetic Education) by Manchester University, England, and in 1980 PhD by the Pennsylvania State University.
