Abstract
Este trabajo se propone presentar un análisis de un pasaje clave relativo a las relaciones entre socráticos: la descripción que hace Aulo Gelio de la relación entre Platón y Jenofonte en Noctes Atticae 14.3. Gelio describe allí la percepción habitual sobre el vínculo entre ambos socráticos, una supuesta rivalidad, y busca brindar una explicación para esta animosidad que es puesta en tela de juicio. Para abordar esta cuestión el artículo recorrerá una serie de problemas: el biografismo de Gelio, el agonismo intelectual de la segunda sofística, el léxico de la rivalidad y el impacto académico de Noctes Atticae 14.3.
