Abstract

This research described a somatotype profi le analysing the corporal composition and the physical performance through physical and motor tests, respectively, in females athletes of the juvenile futsal team from Ponta Grossa (PR Brazil). The sample was composed by 15 athletes with mean age of 16.27 years. The participants can be characterized as having an endomorph-ectomorph somatotype profi le alike other studies found in the international literature for female volleyball athletes. Regard of the physical aptitude and motor performance we found medium values of 26,56cm for hip fl exion on a bank; 31.27 and 37.53 repetitions for arm fl exion and abdominal resistance, respectively; 1.71 meters of horizontal jump; 6.47 seconds in the agility test; and 1,888 meters in the race of 12 minutes. From the collected data in relation to the offi cial team performance on competitions, we notice that to possess an ideal body somatotype as international patterns it is not enough to the team to get success on its sporting performance, if the variables that supply support for a physical conditioning are not correlated in an effi cient way for this acquisition. The lack of studies with parameters makes it diffi cult the formation of conclusion.
