Abstract

The aim of this research is to improve slurry impeller material erosion wear analysis. The impeller of the pump was made of epoxy resin. The purpose of this erosion test was to see how the rotational speed, solid concentration, time period, and particle size were affected. As the erodent substance, water was utilized. Different particle sizes, rotating speeds, time durations, and solid concentrations were used in the erosion wear studies. These tests were conducted at 4 to 6 distinct speeds of 30, 60, 90, 120, 150 and 180 m/s, with time periods of 30, 60, 90, and 120 min. For assessing the erosion resistance of epoxy resins, a Solid Particle Erosion (SPE) tester is used. Significant wear resistance to erosion has been observed. The following were the process factors that affected erosion wear loss: velocity > angle > concentration > particle size > time. The signal-to-noise ratio of epoxy resin varies with velocity from 0.012 to 0.0053, 0.0118 to 0.0067, and 0.0042 to 0.0114., Taguchi technique was used to examine the effect of controlled process parameters on slurry erosion wear of pump impeller material.
