Abstract

Monthly average hourly values of global and direct solar radiation on a horizontal surface for Madrid (1979-1983) and Uccle (1951-1980), for clear skies and maximum direct radiation(“very clear skies”), are used to obtain correlations between:1) Īd/ Ī and Ī/ Īo, 2) ▪d= Īd/ Īo and ▪t= Ī/ Īo, where Ī, Īd and Īo are respectively the monthly average hourly values of the global, diffuse and extraterrestrial solar radiation on a horizontal surface. The dependence on solar elevation and turbidity(Linke turbidity factor) is studied for the ▪d−▪t correlation.
