Abstract
We have built and sold ordinary houses in England, which are heated more by the sun than other houses, at no extra cost; the houses have assured ventilation. We have designed and tested a 'solar chimney' for aiding ventilation in Africa. It collects solar energy and can be used when needed. We have shown how the air can be cooled by evaporation, and still remain comfortable, though saturated.
