Abstract

Heat stores combined with heat pumps can be justified only if they result in economically viable operation of the heating system. Both heat sources and heat stores are therefore constrained to lie within given economic limits, determined by the costs of the alternatives available. If these economic limits are exceeded, the alternatives will usually be applied.
