Abstract

A novel soft switching based single switch high step-up dc-dc converter with coupled inductor and switched capacitor technique is presented in this paper. The proposed converter provides high voltage gain, high efficiency and low ripple input current suitable for renewable energy grid integration. As the voltage stress on the main switch is reduced, active switches with low conducting resistance can be used in place of the main switch. The leakage inductance snubbing effect eliminates the reverse recovery problem of switched capacitor diode. The conduction and switching losses are reduced by turning on the main switch in Zero Current Switching (ZCS) condition. The principle operation, design and analysis of the proposed soft switching based single switch integrated converter are carried out using MATLAB simulink. The comparative analysis is done with the conventional single switch converter and presented in this paper.
