Social networking sites impact on volunteerism growth among Algerian youth: A survey study on a sample of Facebook users from the state of M'sila

Abstract

Social networking sites have several characteristics and features that distinguish them as communication pioneers due to the services they provide and the satisfaction they achieve among their audience, and this reflects the effective role they play in the dissemination of information, purposeful content, and ideas that constitute awareness about the various issues that occupy public opinion from this perspective. Logic Through volunteer work campaigns on the groups' Facebook pages, social networks, most notably Facebook, attempted to provide an appropriate amount of social communication to show the problems in which society is floundering and to search for solutions to them. A group of people who are interested in modern technologies and want to invest in them through volunteer work. We used the survey method from descriptive studies to achieve the study's goal of shedding light on the importance of volunteer work among Algerian youth and its relationship to the social networking site Facebook. According to the study, interaction and acquaintance in Facebook groups contribute to the process of engaging in voluntary work, which forces users to form groups that carry out voluntary work, so some volunteer operations related to the environment and social situations, in particular, emerge as the most important volunteer operations.
