Abstract
This study seeks to demonstrate that, while it is still the consummation of a fundamental phase of semiotics and despite founding several of the theory's foundations that are still valid, Du sens II also sowed the seeds of the transformations that semiotics would undergo in the following years and which are still thriving today. To do so, we first look at general aspects of the book, such as the chronology and organization of the studies that make it up. This is followed by a brief analysis of Greimas’ preface and the central aspects of each of the eleven studies that make up the book. Finally, the conclusion seeks to highlight the perspectives opened up by the book and its effectiveness in the development of the theory.
