Abstract

Industrial IoT systems have been used to collect and analyze data from industrial processes. In this paper, we describe the development of a system containing IoT technologies to perform vibration monitoring of rotating machines for use in predictive maintenance systems. A two-axis vibration attached to a motor is used to generate the signal which is sent to a programmable logic controller using Modbus RTU protocol. Measurement history is stored in a MySQL relational database and presented through a dashboard using Grafana. Connection between controller and database is done by means a flow developed in Node-RED using OPC-UA protocol. Initial analysis were carried out using ranges of values in accordance with technical standards to establish tolerable levels of vibration. The system was successfully deployed and tested in a workbench; the methodology and results are reported in this paper.
