Abstract
This article aims to briefly discuss the requirement by Brazilian Courts of prior administrative request with the INSS for the purpose of characterizing the requirement of standing in judicial actions seeking the granting of social security benefits. To achieve this goal, research was conducted on the jurisprudence of the Supreme Federal Court, the Superior Court of Justice, and the Regional Federal Courts.
