Abstract
This scientific article aims to verify the role of the police chief as a conflict mediator in crimes with less offensive potential, which is certain to prove to be an effective measure in São Paulo, which is why this practice deserves extension to the other states of Brazil, taking into account given the crisis that the Brazilian judiciary faces regarding Special Criminal Courts. Although Law n° 9.099/95 is guided by the principles of speed, procedural economy and efficiency, there are circumstances, outlined in this article, that prevent their consummation. Thus, through bibliographical research, the figure of the conciliator delegate is the solution to unburden the judiciary and resolve disputes in a humane and definitive manner.
