Abstract
High quality single crystal growth of the high- T c superconductors REBa 2Cu 3O 7− x (RE = Y and Er) is reported in detail. Single crystals with a well-developed rectangular shape up to a size of 1.2×1.2×0.5 mm 3 and with a sharp superconducting transition at 92 K are obtained by a CuOBaO rich flux method. Growth conditions as well as characterization of the single crystals are summarized.
