Abstract
A new crystal technique, a skull melt method using an image furnace, is proposed. Contamination-free, high quality single crystals can be grown in this method. La 2−xSr xCuO 4 single crystals, with a superconducting transition temperature higher than 30K, were easily obtained by this new method. This method offers the potential for growing high quality single crystal samples.
