Abstract

Simultaneous phase-distortion correction and beam steering is demonstrated by employing a 37-element continuous faceplate deformable mirror. Non-mechanical beam steering of 30 and 90 µrad along the horizontal directions with high Strehl ratios as well as high steering efficiency is experimentally realised. The method presents a more compact adaptive optics system for fielding a high energy laser into practical use.
