Abstract

A Monte Carlo approach to the simulation of the behaviour of phonons in solids has been formulated. In order to test the feasibility of the method, the problem of phonon transport, at very low temperatures, in an impure insulator has been briefly examined. It is suggested that the approach we describe could form the basis of a new attack on a whole range of phenomena involving quasi-particles such as phonons. Es ist eine Monte Carlo Annäherung für die Nachahmung des Verhaltens von Phonons in festen Körpern formuliert worden. Um die Eignung des Verfahrens zu prüfen, ist das Problem der Phononbeförderung bei sehr niedrigen Temperaturen in einem unreinen Isolator kurz untersucht worden. Es wird angeregt, daß die Annäherung, die wir beschreiben, die Grundlage eines neuen Angriffs auf einen ganzen Bereich von Phänomenen bilden kann, in denen quasi Teilchen, wie Phonons, verwickelt sind.
