Abstract

AlSi10Mg alloy is one of the extensively used material in the field of automobile and aerospace because of it physical and mechanical properties while contributing to light weight and flexible post-processing operations. l-PBF process is a very fast solidification process. The solidification behaviors and the possible micro-structure of the build component depend on the properties of the material. Thus, it becomes a great important for the prediction of the micro-structure during the process for the optimization of the process. A PF model is developed in this study to predict the micro-structure evolution of AlSi10Mg alloy produced by l-PBF process. The obtained PF model result is compared with the analytical model under the solidification condition to know the nature of the micro-structure.
