Abstract
It is shown that the proportion of heavy Fe and Ti isotopes in ilmenite increases with an increase in the Fe2O3 content. The behavior of Fe and Ti isotopes in ilmenite is caused by redox processes and by the redistribution of oxygen between iron and titanium. In brannerite, Ti isotopes are characterized by a statistically equivalent immediate environment in contrast to ilmenite, where heavy Ti isotopes have a greater degree of local oxidation relative to light isotopes.
