Abstract

The mercurimetric method for organohalogen determination described in 1959 can be further simplified by omitting the boiling process for removal of hydrogen peroxide after combustion of the sample in the oxygen flask. Hydrogen peroxide does not interfere in the mercurimetric titration. Its presence did show certain advantages in the work of other investigators as well as in this present study.
