Abstract
In this review study, the principles and evolution of Single Electron Transfer - Living Radical Polymerization (SET-LRP) together with the methodologies currently applied by researchers are discussed. It is considered that the techniques developed by Percec et al will be able to help the researchers and other industrial experts to practice, develop and invent new concepts and methodologies for SET-LRP. This renew deals with general mechanistic feature explained by Percec that undergoes a metal catalysed living radical polymerization by rapid activation and deactivation steps. In addition, the advantage of metal catalysed LRP, in mediating rapid polymerization and retain chain-end functionality necessary for reinitiating in block copolymerization can also be well explained.
