Abstract
O propósito deste artigo consiste em analisar o paradigma da ‘cordialidade oficial brasileira’, conforme foi concebido pelo historiador Amado Cervo, em perspectiva com o conceito de ‘homem cordial’, mais conhecido a partir da obra “Raízes do Brasil”, de Sérgio Buarque de Hollanda. O artigo faz referência à construção de ambos os conceitos e aponta diferenças as quais permitem conhecer que a ‘cordialidade oficial’ não é a diplomacia do ‘homem cordial’.
