Abstract

The paper studies the post-truth phenomenon as a factor of personality self-identification in ukrainian reality thru the civilizational break. The idea is being forwarded that, liberalization of the circle information and the non-controll of its sources have conditioned, dangerous for national unity, the post-truth formation in the brain of immature youth as a wrong vision of reality. An inability to critical analysis of a information content brings to impossibility to see its manipulative direction and in result the youth copy the subjective truth without understanding that they fall into a misundestand of the post-truth. In the clarified definition, the post-truth means the image of reality, a kind of simulacrum created by the subject on the basis of faith, learning the information thru the projection of their own value orientations, common sense and life experience. Being in a net of post-truth, a person sees in it a result of conscious self-determination – but not a deceptive image of reality inspired by information from the outside. The article presents linguistic methods of presenting information for the formation of the desired post-truth among which the key role belongs to sophistics. The attempts to manipulate the consciousness of young people through speculation on the mental characteristics of Ukrainians are studied separately. The phenomenon of post-truth carries social risks - because it not-refuced on time, it is sourced from individual and ideal and is objectified in the form of public opinion and subsequently functions independently of its original source being an exerting a real influence on public sentiment. It is justifying the need for civilian control over the dissemination of an information spread as one of the ways to protect individuals. Ensuring the reorientation of student youth towards a mastering the truth instead of technologically embedded post-truth in to consciousness, possible - with the maturity of the national establishment, high standards of media responsibility, ensuring national content marking - on the one hand, and a building by teachers an ability for critical reflection and diagnosing information about the truth - from other hand. Under such conditions an effective method for confronting informational manipulation of the minds of young people we see in the diversification of information sources provided by mastering the English language as a component for the formation of communicative competence at all levels of education.
