Introduction

The elimination of mother to child transmission (EMTCT) ofHIV is considered a realistic public health goal. Sri Lanka has satisfactory maternal and child health services with more than 99% of antenatal population receiving antenatal care and delivering in health care institutions. Sri Lanka commenced PMTCT of syphilis programme in 1952 and had completed more than 50 years by 2014.
