Abstract
Use of satellites for telecommunications, broadcasting and remote sensing has led to new earth station technology developments. New services and applications have thrown up challenges to electronics and telecommunication engineers to develop fixed, transportable and mobile earth stations with new devices/materials/production methods. This paper takes stock of available earth stations in the country and brings out areas of new R&D and technology development to meet future challenges.
