Abstract

The general phenomenon of the cult of the saints - a strong expression of religiosity from Occidental High Middle Ages' societies - stood out the tendency to the convergence of different social segments to the relations with the holy many as much in live as after his death. This article is about this convergence, considering the complementary manifestation that characterizes it, that is, at the same time unique, as an attractive axle, and diverse, by the variability of expressions and social relations that are expressing and interfering on it, ruling us on the analysis of the hagiography made on Iberian Peninsula, between V and VIII centuries. KEY WORDS: Visigothic Spain, religion, cult of the saints, social hierarchy, dependence relations.
