Abstract
Russia and the Central Asian region have a long history ofengagements, based on Russian interests and the regionaldynamics that were changed from time to time. After aterrorist attack on the World Trade Centre, America hadstarted operations against Taliban Govt. in Afghanistan inthe name of the War on Terror and established militarybases in Central Asia. The Heads of Central Asiancountries and Russia condemned these attacks and initially,Russia supported the American campaign in this region.Later, with the Color revolutions and protests in regionalstates, Russia felt threatening and increased Americaninfluence in the region. The key points of the RussianRussia and the Central Asian region have a long history of engagements, based on Russian interests and the regional dynamics that were changed from time to time. The key points of the RussianFederation’s foreign policy in the Central Asian region are institutional integration, helping in energy ventures, and strengthening security. The study conducts through the qualitative method. This article investigates the tactical significance of the region of Central Asia toward Russia. It also focuses on Russian security, political and economicinterests in this region.
