Abstract

The article describes the psychomotor development of the child from birth to the completion of the first year of life, with a focus on anomalies that indicate a disturbance in the development of the central nervous system that may occur during this period. Early intervention is very important and may affect the later development of the child. Parents and specialists should pay special attention to the psychomotor development of children. In the following article, I present the development of an infant in each month of life and the abnormalities observed in its posture and movement patterns. Psychomotor retardation refers to a situation when a child does not reach the milestones assigned to a given age. Psychomotor retardation may become apparent at the beginning of life child or at a later stage. The process of the maturation of the central nervous system takes place during prenatal life. The development of the central nervous system in utero is very intensive. Any negative influence may affect the child’s later life. In the article below, I present 26 photos of a girl’s child in each month of her life and the milestones she achieves. I also present observable abnormalities in posture patterns in the following months.
