Abstract
The present paper deals with the role of social educators in the Czech environment with regard to creating a safe environment. The text summarizes information concerning the school counselling centre, its members with special attention to the role of the social educator in the school counselling system. In the final part, the article makes a small contribution to the role of social educators in shaping a safe environment in school. It presents testimonies of school principals, school prevention methodologists and social educators themselves.
