Abstract

The steady laminar flow of electrorheological fluid (ERF) through a narrow space between two fixed surfaces of revolution is considered. The ERF is modeled as a viscoplastic fluid. This problem is described by boundary layer equations. Using the method of averaged inertia one obtains the formulae expressing the pressure distributions. Numerical examples of pressure distributions between parallel disks and between concentric spherical surfaces are presented.
