Abstract

This paper reviews The Way of Translation: Theory and Practice (Revised Edition) by Cao Minglun in terms of its contents, features and academic innovations. This book reviews the history of the“Cultural turn in translation”, clarifies the definition of translation and the scope of translation studies, and reflects on the disconnection between translation practice and theory in China from a synchronic and diachronic perspective. It provides enlightenment for the translator to realize the benign interaction between translation practice and translation theory and is beneficial to the development of translation studies.
