Abstract
The article gives a description of electricity meters used in the organization of electricity metering. Since 2021 electricity suppliers are required to install meters with a minimum set of functions of intelligent electricity metering systems when installing new meters or replacing old metering devices with new ones, in accordance with Federal Law No. 522-FZ. Outdated induction meters will be replaced by electronic ones with greater reliability, higher accuracy and better protection against theft of electrical energy. The article describes the design of induction and electronic meters, as well as weighs up advantages and disadvantages of each type of device. We also examined smart meters with remote reading.
