The above article from Journal of Geophysical Research Atmospheres, published online on 29 September 2021, has been retracted by agreement between the journal Editor‐in‐Chief, Minghua Zhang; AGU; and Wiley Periodicals LLC. The retraction has been agreed because the conclusions of the paper were found to be incorrect, since they depend on the choice of the coordinate system that does not apply to practical application of the theory of atmospheric Ekman boundary layer. The author disagrees with this assessment.
